Day 7 - Circumnavigation 2025

September 15, 2025

Hello from beautiful Singapore. Today was another great day. After another surprisingly good hotel breakfast and a little bit of time to get work done, I headed to Darwin’s airport to catch my flight to Singapore. The flight and airport experience was uneventful, other than the fact there was a child kicking my seat the entire time. The food was once again better than I expected, this time opting for ravioli. The time flew by and we touched down early in Singapore at about 6 pm. Singapore, like Australia, has really figured out immigration control, it was all automated and I never had to stop walking except to wait for my checked bag.

Using their local version of Uber I was able to get to my hotel in about 20 minutes. My driver was super friendly and gave me some recommendations of things to try and do. After getting situated I had a brief heart attack as I scared myself as I thought I saw someone in my bathroom as I turned around, thankfully it was just my reflection, but it certainly woke me up. After this brush with death, I ventured out to explore the city.

Like Darwin, Singapore is hot and humid, but unlike Darwin there are sky scrapers everywhere. I walked down to the waterfront park to get some pictures which I will attach below. Like Sydney I felt extremely safe and the streets were spotless.

After tiring myself out I headed back to the hotel and up to the rooftop bar / observation deck to get some more photos before retiring to my room. I ordered Singapore Chicken Friend rice, which just came with chopsticks so you can imagine how that went.

Tomorrow I head to Doha and I’m excited to be trying the Qatar Airways Qsuites product. This will also be one of the harder time zone changes as I lose another five hours.
